Jesus Christ: Our Friend

Acts 4:10-12
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this (impotent) man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
JESUS is the head of the corner or the chief cornerstone of the temple and of our lives. He is the author and finisher of the temple and our lives. He is our salvation. The Apostle Paul said to the Ephesian saints following their conversion to Christ and Christ’s church:
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
Jesus is the perfect leader and master of His church,  individual salvation, and eternal life. We always have a friend in Jesus. When we obey Him, he calls us His friends. We should seek to be His friend.
Text: Joseph M. Scriven, 1820-1886
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.
Jesus can make us whole spiritually, just like He made whole physically the impotent man. He is the Rock upon which we can build and have safe foundation. He alone is our Savior and Redeemer, our Advocate and Mediator with the Father. GO to Heavenly Father in prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ, for He is our Confidant in whom we can always depend and trust.
