Jesus-Gethsemane-Crucifixion-Me

To begin to meet the demands of the Atonement, the sinless Christ went into the Garden of Gethsemane, as Elder Whitney saw in his dream, there to bear the agony of soul only He could bear. He “began to be sore amazed and to be very heavy,” saying to Peter, James, and John, “My soul is exceeding sorrowful, unto death.” Why? Because He suffered “the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam.” He experienced “temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great [was] his anguish.”

JESUS CHRIST: PROPHECY OF FULFILLED

mormon-Christ-religion.jpgFor according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
--2 Nephi 25:19

Prophets of God prophesied that Christ, the Messiah, would come 600 years after the prophet Lehi and his family left Jerusalem heading to America. They also prophesied that the Messiah’s name would be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. These prophecies were fulfilled. Jesus was born to the virgin Mary as prophesied 600 years from when Lehi and family did actually leave Jerusalem. He was named Jesus, again fulfilling prophecy. He became the Christ, the Savior of the World. He lived a perfect life. In Him was no guile or sin. He lived the example that we all should strive to follow. He helped people, taught people, and completely overcame the world. We too need to put worldly things second and first the things of the gospel and of a spiritual nature. In other words, we need to put God first and foremost above all else.

JESUS CHRIST: NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME

Jesus Christ is Lord
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Jesus kneeling.jpg 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus, who is the Christ, is above all other names because of who He was and is. He is our Advocate with the Father, who pleads our cause daily. Everyone should bow down to Him in humble adoration and gratitude for His infinite atoning sacrifice. Because of Him all will be resurrected and live forever. Jesus suffered, bled, died, and was resurrected for us. He is our Savior and redeemer. Jesus alone is the true Messiah for there is no other.

JESUS CHRIST: DIVINE SON OF GOD

Jesus Christ is the Promised Messiah, the Promised Savior of the World
christ birth.jpg22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus.
--Acts 13:23
Jesus Christ is the Promised Messiah, the promised Savior, the one that God the Father promised Israel that would come. Prophets prophesied that Jesus would be born through the lineage of David, the son of Jesse, and this prophecy was fulfilled. The entire Old Testament points to the coming of the Messiah, the promised Savior, that He would come in the Meridian of Time. Jesus was born of Mary. He is the divine son of God the Father. Jesus had a mortal mother and an immortal Father, making Jesus the divine Son of God, the Promised Savior.

JESUS CHRIST: SON OF GOD

Testimonies of Jesus Christ

christ savior.jpg
Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
--John 1:48-49
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the King of Israel. Nathanael testified of this truthfulness. At first, Nathanael had faith, he believed that Jesus was the Son of God, but he didn’t have that sure knowledge of the fact. However, now it is apparent that the Holy Ghost bore witness to him about who Jesus actually was, that He was the Son of God. From that time onward Nathanael knew that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, the King of Israel.
Gordon B. Hinckley also bears a testimony of Jesus Christ:

“He is the central focus of our worship. He is the Lord who shall come again to reign on earth. He is our King, our Lord, our Master, the living Christ, who stands on the right hand of His Father.”

Testimony of Boyd K. Packer, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Henry B. Eyring, Thomas S. Monson.

JESUS CHRIST: ROCK OF HEAVEN

Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings
christ Jesus.jpg

And the Lord said: Blessed is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith: I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity; whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy.
--Moses 7:53

Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, even the Rock of Heaven. His influence extends from all eternity past to eternity future; for, there is no end to His work or impact. Those who believe in Christ, follow Him, obey Him, and endure faithfully to the end of mortality will experience a favorable judgment, come forth with songs of everlasting joy, and gain eternal life in exaltation throughout eternity. Seek Him and find Him, and you will also find happiness, peace, and eternal life.

JESUS CHRIST: MESSIAH HAS COME

There is save one true Messiah
christ-wounds-apostles-924904-gallery.jpg"Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a false Messiah which should deceive the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews."
--2 Nephi 25:14
Jesus Christ is the only true Messiah. He was the Messiah who was rejected by His own people, the Jews. After Christ came to the earth and was rejected by His people, they continued looking for a Messiah. Even until this very day they are awaiting His coming. He will come for His Second Coming in clouds of glory. The Jews will see Him, the prints of the nails in His hands, wrists and feet. They will ask Him what these marks are. He will answer that they are the wounds in which He was wounded in the house of His friends. They will then recognize who He is.

JESUS CHRIST: UNIVERSAL RESURRECTION

Jesus Christ: In America In Me

christ resurrection.jpgAnd behold it shall come to pass that after the Messiah hath risen from the dead, and hath manifested himself unto his people, unto as many as will believe on his name, behold, Jerusalem shall be destroyed again; for wo unto them that fight against God and the people of his church.
--2 Nephi 25:14
Jesus, the Messiah, rose from the dead and appeared to those who believed in Him. He appeared to the believers in Jerusalem area as well as the believers in America in the city of Bountiful. Upon His appearance, they felt the prints of the nails in His hands, wrists, feet. They also thrust their hands into His pierced side where the spear had been jabbed into Him. They believed in Him prior to His appearance, but now, by the power of the Holy Ghost, they knew for a surety that He was Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Savior and Redeemer of the World, their personal Confidant.

JESUS CHRIST: THE INFINITE ATONEMENT

Jesus Brought Redemption from the Fall of Adam
christ messiah 4.jpgAnd the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
--2 Nephi 2:26

Jesus Christ, the Messiah, came in the Meridian of time to be our Redeemer, our Savior, to redeem us all from the fall of Adam. Adam fell so that man may come to the earth and partake upon their spirits a physical body. As a result of Christ’s atonement, man is free to act for himself, to make his own choices. If we choose the right, we enjoy freedom and liberty. If we choose the wrong, we will be acted upon in the form of punishment or our conscience making us feel guilty. Jesus made it possible to be free from sin to the highest extent possible. Our duty is to obey His laws and commandments with exactness.

"Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." (2 Nephi 2:25)

JESUS CHRIST: GRACE AND TRUTH

6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
christ messiah .jpg 7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
--2 Nephi 2:6

Jesus Christ is the Holy Messiah, the one person possess totality of grace and truth, and “grace and truth forsake the evil one.” Jesus sacrificed himself, His own life, for the sins of the world, to fulfill the law, the law of Moses and the Law of God. His Atonement affects everyone such that all will experience a resurrection of body and spirit. The Atonement also impacts those who have a broken heart and contrite spirit, in other words, a repentant heart and an obedient spirit, for these are the ones who humble themselves in godly sorrow for their wrongs, change, and improve; they seek to live more Christlike lives; herein lies the deep impact from the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

JESUS CHRIST: THE MESSIAH-THE REDEEMER

Jesus: The Holy One of Israel
Christ Messiah Teacher.jpgBut behold, when the time cometh that they shall dwindle in unbelief, after they have received so great blessings from the hand of the Lord—having a knowledge of the creation of the earth, and all men, knowing the great and marvelous works of the Lord from the creation of the world; having power given them to do all things by faith; having all the commandments from the beginning, and having been brought by his infinite goodness into this precious land of promise—behold, I say, if the day shall come that they will reject the Holy One of Israel, the true Messiah, their Redeemer and their God, behold, the judgments of him that is just shall rest upon them.
--2 Nephi 1:10

Jesus is truly the Messiah, our Redeemer. He is the Holy One of Israel, the Teacher.  If we believe in Him and accept Him, then our heart, mind, and soul will be inclined toward Him and His teachings. Our hearts will be prone to be more obedient to His commandments. If we reject Him and His laws and statutes, then our lives will drift into forbidden paths, trails of life that are counterproductive to a happy and successful life, the life that will carry one to Eternal Life with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and family and friends throughout eternity. Put God First.

JESUS: MANIFESTATIONS THEREOF

February 25, 2014 Tuesday
The Messiah in Body and Spirit
christ messiah 3.jpgAnd now, the thing which our father meaneth concerning the grafting in of the natural branches through the fulness of the Gentiles, is, that in the latter days, when our seed shall have dwindled in unbelief, yea, for the space of many years, and many generations after the Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men, then shall the fulness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the Gentiles, and from the Gentiles unto the remnant of our seed.
--I Nephi 15:13

Jesus, the Messiah, shall be manifested in body and spirit unto the world. He will come in the meridian of time. All salvation points toward Him for He is the author and finisher of our salvation. Because of Him, all will be resurrected and live forever in the eternal home that they have earned and merited. Jesus, when He came, taught His everlasting gospel. His gospel and church have been restored here in the latter days; namely, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus’ gospel will be preached to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. He is the Messiah of the world.

JESUS CHRIST: THE MESSIAH

The Messiah-Savior of the World
Yea, even six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem, a prophet would the Lord God raise up among the Jews—even a Messiah, or, in other words, a Savior of the world.
--I Nephi 10:4
Jesus was the Jehovah of the Old Testament. Prophets prophesied that He would come to the earth, and especially 600 years from the time Lehi and his family left Jerusalem to journey across the ocean to the Americas. Jesus was born. He was the Messiah as had been prophesied, even the Savior of the world. Beside Him, there is no other Savior. He brought about the infinite Atonement, the perfect Atonement, making Jesus the Great Atoner.

JESUS CHRIST: TESTIFIES TO SAMARITAN WOMAN

Jesus testifies “I that speak unto thee am he.”

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
--John 4:25-26
Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, and Jesus testifies of himself. She said that she knew that the Messiah would come, and that his name was called Christ. She knew things about Christ. She said that when He did come that He would tell them all things, that He was very knowledgeable. Lo, Jesus responded to the woman’s comments by saying, “I am He.” At first the woman found it hard to believe, but soon she realized that He was telling the truth, that the man she was speaking with was indeed Messiah, called the Christ.

Jesus, called Christ, is the Great Atoner, the Savior of the world. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He possesses unlimited power and has all knowledge, and by the power of the Holy Ghost He can be anywhere. He is the Father’s Only Begotten Son in the flesh. He worked out the infinite Atonement for the salvation of all.

JESUS CHRIST: THE MESSIAH

Jesus’ Atonement affects Eternity Past to Eternity Future
"One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ."
--John 1:40-41

Andrew, Peter’s brother, locates Simon and testifies unto him, “We have found the Messias” (Messiah). Messiah interpreted means ‘the Christ.’ These men had a testimony of Jesus called the Messiah, that He was the Savior of the world. They learned that Jesus would suffer and provide the infinite atonement for all mankind. The Messiah’s atonement affects all people and all created things from eternity past to eternity future. There isn’t any person or thing that the atonement doesn’t influence. The atonement of the Messiah is real and powerful. We access the power of the atonement when we repent, live righteously, and strive to keep all God’s commandments. The motto, “Put God First” is a sure success formula in this lifetime and will assure happiness now and eternal joy forever in the mansions of heaven. Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

THE CHRIST: SON OF THE LIVING GOD

Jesus asked, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?”
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some,Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
--Matthew 16:16
Click here to see "Thou Art the Christ"

Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. He is the Only Begotten Son of God the Father in the flesh. Jesus is the firstborn of the Father in the spirit realm, the Father’s first spirit offspring.

Jesus lives and loves. He ransoms man from the fall of Adam to give man life here on this earth, mortality. This mortal life is the time for people to prepare themselves to meet God at judgment day, the day of reckoning. Judgment Day will be great-for those prepared for Celestial glory, but it will be a dreadful day-for those not prepared for Celestial glory.

JESUS CHRIST: THE MESSIAH

II Nephi 2:6-7 (Book of Mormon)
6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
Redemption, freedom from sin and guilt, is possible because of Jesus Christ, the Holy Messiah. He is grace and truth. Grace is His divine assistance, His infinite power and ability to forgive sins and to have total knowledge of us and our concerns. He even known our thoughts, intentions, desires, and motives. He desires us to come unto him and find relief and comfort in Him.
Jesus sacrificed himself for our sins, for our human errors and ways. He knew that we couldn’t make it by ourselves; therefore, our Father designed a plan that would send a Savior to the earth to compensate for what we couldn’t do after all we could do for ourselves. We can repent with Godly sorrow, but it takes a Savior, a Redeemer, even the Messiah to make repentance and forgiveness complete. So God the Father sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus, to be the Great Atoner. We must offer up to God a broken (repentant) heart, and a contrite (obedient) spirit. God and Christ will do for us what it is impossible for us to do alone.
