JESUS CHRIST: THE HOLY ONE

Jesus is the only name whereby salvation comes
son of god.jpgIf thou wilt turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, and believe, and repent of all thy transgressions, and be baptized, even in water, in the name of mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth, which is Jesus Christ, the only name which shall be given under heaven, whereby salvation shall come unto the children of men, ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, asking all things in his name, and whatsoever ye shall ask, it shall be given you.
--Moses 6:52

Jesus Christ taught faith in Him and repentance for remission of sins. He is full of grace and truth and in the Only Begotten Son of God the Father in the flesh. Regardless of what the world teaches, there is no other name under heaven through which salvation can come to a person that through the name of Christ. No person can or will ever change this doctrine in spite of the thoughts, philosophies, and learning of man, for this absolute truth is constant, never-changing. When one repents and is baptized unto Christ into the true church, he/she then can receive the Holy Ghost, the testator of all truth.

JESUS: THE CHRIST

Jesus Christ is Lord Omnipotent
Jesus gave His disciples a charge or directive at one point, [Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ].
Jesus bore testimony of himself, that He was the Christ. Jesus was and is the only true Christ. He is the literal Messiah and Redeemer of the world and all world created by Him under the direction of the Father. His name is the only name wherein man can obtain salvation and gain eternal life.
“There shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.”
Jesus is the perfect role model of righteousness and godliness. Seek to become like Jesus the Christ.

JESUS CHRIST: SAVIOR and REDEEMER

For God so Loved the World…..
6 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved
.
Through Jesus Christ all will have the opportunity to have everlasting life. No everyone will, but at least they will have the chance. It is all up to the individual and the choices he/she makes. If one gains eternal life it is because they chose it because they chose to live obedient lives and this is what qualifies one for everlasting life in the highest heaven of the Celestial world.

God, the Father, loved the world so much that He provided a Savior, to atone for the sins of all people. So He sent His son, Jesus, to be the Great Atoner. Jesus suffered death in the flesh, and He suffered pain and agony and bled from every pore of His body, all stemming from the love the Father and Jesus have for us. Jesus’ role isn’t to condemn, but to save.

CHRIST'S ATONEMENT IS SUPREME

Jesus Christ's Atonement: The Single Most Important Event
President Joseph F. Smith testified: "On the third of October, in the year nineteen hundred and eighteen, I sat in my room pondering over the scriptures; and reflecting upon the great atoning sacrifice that was made by the Son of God, for the redemption of the world; and the great and wonderful love made manifest by the Father and the Son in the coming of the Redeemer into the world; that through his atonement, and by obedience to the principles of the gospel, mankind might be saved."
--Doctrine and Covenants 138:1-4
God the Father demonstrated His deepest love for us by sending to us His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and the sins of the world, to enable us with a resurrection of body and spirit. Jesus’s great atoning sacrifice marked the single most important event to ever occur throughout history. His atonement brought redemption to the world and affects all eternity. His atonement makes salvation possible, for without Christ’s atonement, no one could gain forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life predicated upon our obedience to gospel principles. Christ’s atonement is supreme.

JESUS CHRIST: LITTLE CHILDREN REDEEMED

Jesus Saves Little Children
God the Father said, “But behold, I say unto you, that little children are redeemed from the foundation of the world through mine Only Begotten; Wherefore, they cannot sin, for power is not given unto Satan to tempt little children, until they begin to become accountable before me.
--Doctrine and Covenants 29:46-47
Little children cannot sin because Satan doesn’t have power to tempt little children to do wrong. When they arrive at the age of accountability, then satan can tempt them to choose the right or wrong. Little children are automatically redeemed through Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father. It is a gift from God.

Jesus Christ: Supreme Lovingkindness

Isaiah 63:7-9
7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
Jesus, our Redeemer, constantly demonstrated lovingkindness. His  supreme love and kindness came to a summit on two occasions in two places:
(1) While suffering and bleeding from every pore when in Gethsemane
(2) While bleeding and dying when on the cruel Cross
Jesus suffered, bled and died, sacrificing His life for all humankind and all living things. He shed His blood in the perfect atonement so that we might be forgiven of our sins and gain eternal life.
How do we gain access to the Power of the Atonement?
  1. Put God first: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”
  2. Exercise faith in Christ
  3. Repent
  4. Be worthily baptized by proper authority
  5. Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
  6. Make and keep sacred covenants in the temple
  7. Obey all God’s commandments
  8. Be meek and humble
  9. Pray 100% perfectly honest prayers
  10. Praise the Lord with all our hearts
  11. Be perfectly honest and upright at all times
  12. Serve others with love
  13. Acknowledge God’s hand in all things
  14. Always be temple worthy

Jesus Christ: Our Redeemer

Job 19:25-26

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Job had a testimony that Jesus lives, that He was indeed the Redeemer of mankind. He testified that he knew that Jesus would return to the earth in the latter day for His Second Coming and would reign on the earth during the millennium with righteous saints. The Second Coming will be a great and dreadful: great for those spiritually prepared; dreadful for those who are not prepared. The choice is ours.
Christ is our Redeemer. A redeemer is one who redeems, who compensates for the faults or sins or shortcomings of another; to save, preserve, spare. Jesus enables us to be saved from death and everlasting misery and woe through His infinite Atonement. Salvation is obtained through Him and in Him, for there is no other. By our faith and good works, and by the grace of God we are eventually saved from the sinful world.

Jesus Christ: My Rock My Choice My Salvation

1 Nephi 13:36
And in them (The Golden Plates, Book of Mormon) shall be written my gospel, saith the Lamb, and my rock and my salvation.
We need to make THE CHOICE by choosing Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as our Rock, so that each of us can say and claim that He is MY ROCK. It is then that we have ownership of the Rock of our Salvation. Put Him first. Make Him your top priority. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” Jesus said. He also commanded us to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
God’s plan gives each of us individual agency, to choose and act for ourselves. He does not and cannot force us to choose the right or the wrong. We have complete control of our choices, but we do not have control or any say so over consequences of our choices. But we know that when we put God and Christ first and obey them by choosing the right, then we can rest assured that God will keep His promise and bless us with all the things we need. When we make Christ our Rock, our personal and family Rock, we cannot go astray or wrong; He won’t let us because of the Rock upon which we are built. If we choose Him as our Rock and endure to the end of our mortal lives with Him as Our Rock, then we will gain salvation and eternal life.
A good motto or axiom to live by is “Jesus Christ: My Rock My Choice My Salvation.”

Jesus Christ: Our Spiritual Rock

1 Corinthians 10:4
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Jesus Christ is the spiritual Rock from which the living waters originate and flow. The children of Israel were fed spiritual and temporal food while in the wilderness, and they also drank spiritual and temporal drink. Christ follow them in a cloud by day and a pillar of fire at night. He provided them the spiritual guidance and nourishment needed to survive in the wilderness and throughout their journey to the Promised Land, Canaan. Jesus is the “Rock of Our Salvation.” (See hymn by Joseph Townsend)

Lyrics: Click for Music

  • 1. O thou Rock of our salvation,
  • Jesus, Savior of the world,
  • In our poor and lowly station
  • We thy banner have unfurled.
  • (Chorus)
  • Gather round the standard bearer;
  • Gather round in strength of youth.
  • Ev'ry day the prospect's fairer
  • While we're battling for the truth.
  • 2. We a war 'gainst sin are waging;
  • We're contending for the right.
  • Ev'ry day the battle's raging;
  • Help us, Lord, to win the fight.
  • 3. Onward, onward, we'll be singing
  • As we're marching firm and true,
  • Each succeeding battle ringing,
  • Earnest of what we can do.
  • 4. When for all that we've contended,
  • When the fight of faith we've won,
  • When the strife and battle's ended,
  • And our labor here is done,
  • (Chorus after fourth verse)
  • Then, O Rock of our salvation,
  • Jesus, Savior of the world,
  • Take us from our lowly station;
  • Let our flag with thee be furled.
  • Text: Joseph L. Townsend, 1849-1942
  • Music: William Clayson, 1840-1887
If we build our lives upon the Rock of Christ, the only sure and solid foundation, we will not fall, regardless of what we must pass through.
Helaman taught his sons Nephi and Lehi: And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
May we always seek to construct our lives upon the Rock of our Redeemer, who  is Christ, the Son of God. He is our Spiritual Rock from whence our spiritual thirst is quenched, for He is everlasting living water.

Pour Out Your Hearts to God

Psalms 62:6
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength,and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.
JESUS is our Rock and we must commit to be firm at putting no other god before Him and the Father. We must not be moved from our devotion to Him first. Putting God first is the key to happy and successful living. He is our salvation and glory. He gives us strength to withstand Satan and to perform our daily labors. We find refuge in Him. Refuge is safety or shelter from danger or trouble, and Jesus provides us His armour.
We can always trust Him and depend on Him. He always lifts, and never lets us down. Sometimes our faith in Him falls, but we are the doers.
Pour out your hearts to God,  and
He will refill it full to overflowing.
He is the giver of life, peace, and happiness. We just need to build our lives upon the Rock of Christ, and His blessings will be ours. Our lives will be overflowing with ‘milk and honey.’

Jesus: The Rock of Our Salvation

Deut. 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Jesus is the Rock of our salvation. He it the Rock we need to build our lives upon rather than sand. Rock is firm and solid; whereas, sand will wash away when the rain and storms come our way. Jesus will never let us down. We build our lives upon Him by learning, living, and abiding by His teachings, His commandments, covenants, and principles of righteousness and truth. He is fair and absolute, possessing all knowledge and wisdom, love and patience, understanding and foresight. Jesus is the foundation stone that will never veer to the right or to the left, but will remain constant amid change in society. You can trust Him 100%. Turn to Him. Look to Him. Believe in Him. Believe Him. Remember Him. Follow Him.

Jesus: He Surely Must Die

Helaman 14:15
For behold, he surely must die that salvation may come; yea, it behooveth him and becometh expedient that he dieth, to bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, that thereby men may be brought into the presence of the Lord.
Christ must die the infinite death, the death that affects all mankind and all created things. It is expedient that He die so that salvation can come, even the resurrection of all, to bring us back into the presence of Heavenly Father. Jesus is the only one who could suffer death that would atone for the sins of all people. “He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in” (See LDS hymn “There is a Greehilll Far Away”). Thus, it was expedient that He die. Expedient means: important, necessary, advantageous, useful, beneficial, vital. Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer of all.
