THE CHRIST: SON OF THE LIVING GOD

Jesus asked, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?”
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some,Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
--Matthew 16:16

Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. He is the Only Begotten Son of God the Father in the flesh. Jesus is the firstborn of the Father in the spirit realm, the Father’s first spirit offspring.

Jesus lives and loves. He ransoms man from the fall of Adam to give man life here on this earth, mortality. This mortal life is the time for people to prepare themselves to meet God at judgment day, the day of reckoning. Judgment Day will be great-for those prepared for Celestial glory, but it will be a dreadful day-for those not prepared for Celestial glory.

JESUS CHRIST: LOOSING THE BANDS OF DEATH

Remission-Redemption-Resurrection

Therefore the wicked remain as though there had been no redemption made, except it be the loosing of the bands of death; for behold, the day cometh that all shall rise from the dead and stand before God, and be judged according to their works.
And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have
eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else.

--Book of Mormon Alma 11:40-41

Elder Richard G. Scott said, "Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, each of us can become clean and the burden of our rebellion will be lifted. Look here how to receive personal strength through the Atonement of Jesus Christ as delivered by Elder Scott, Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus came into the world to remit our sins and redeem the people.  By so doing, He took upon himself the sins and transgressions of the people that believed in Him. Believers repented and received a forgiveness of their wrongs and opened the gate for them to gain eternal life if they endure; however, the wicked will be resurrected, but will not be redeemed unless they do repent. God knows all things. We will all be judged on Judgment Day and all truth will surface at that time. Those who live in secret and think they are getting away with it will be surprised when they stand before their Maker. Here is the time of reckoning and they will be accountable for every action here in mortality. It will be a rude awakening for lots of people because satan deceives them into thinking they can sin, hurt others, be dishonest and never get caught. God will not be mocked; therefore, their time will come.

Jesus made the resurrection possible. He is the Redeemer and purifier of souls. He is the center of all true religion. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is supreme to all other events and doctrines. The Atonement does for us what we cannot do for ourselves. We stand all amazed at the Atonement of Jesus Christ, His infinite and eternal sacrifice.

JESUS CHRIST: HIS RIGHTEOUS EXAMPLE

Faith in Christ-Repentance-Baptism-Holy Ghost

27 And behold, he cometh to redeem those who will be baptized unto repentance, through faith on his name.
28 Therefore, prepare ye the way of the Lord, for the time is at hand that all men shall reap a reward of their works, according to that which they have been—if they have been righteous they shall reap the salvation of their souls, according to the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ; and if they have been evil they shall reap the damnation of their souls, according to the power and captivation of the devil.
---Book of Mormon Alma 9:27-28
The first principles and ordinances of the gospel are: First, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Second, Repentance. Third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins. Fourth, laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus taught the path to heaven and that was to believe in Him, that He is our Savior and Redeemer. Repent of our wrongs, to change our way, our minds and our perspective on life. Then we need to be baptized by one holding the proper authority to do so. Not just anyone can baptize and it be recognized by God.

Everybody will be judged and rewarded according to their thoughts, motives, actions, deeds, and works. God will not be mocked. The righteous will receive a glorious reward. The wicked who don’t repent will reap damnation for their consequences resulting from the devil and his evil influence. Jesus is the master example for us to pattern our lives after. He said, “Come, Follow Me.” We follow Him by striving to be like Him in righteousness and perfection.

The Atonement and Resurrection

Book of Mormon--Alma 42:23

The atonement bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead; and the resurrection of the dead bringeth back men into the presence of God;
Since the atonement (payment for sins) brings to pass the resurrection of the dead, and the resurrection of the dead brings us back into the presence of God; THEN the atonement brings us back into the presence of God. Without the atonement of Jesus Christ, all mankind would eventually perish and become as satan, full of evil and forever  miserable.
Christ’s atonement (payment for our sins) started in Gethsemane, continued on the cross, and culminated with the resurrection.  According to the Law of Justice, everyone would need to suffer for his/her sins. But to have our sins forgiven and to be resurrection after death required a sacrifice, but it needed to be an infinite and eternal sacrifice. Jesus Christ was the only one qualified to make this atoning sacrifice.
Birth is when the spirit enters the physical body. Death is the separation of the body and spirit, when the body goes to the grave to await the resurrection, and the spirit goes to the spirit world, the world where the spirits of all people go when they die. At the appointed resurrection time, your spirit and body will be re-united and come forth to meet Christ at the judgement bar. Here you will be judged according to your thoughts, desires, and works during mortality and the spirit world existence. If you have lived a good life, obeying all God’s commandments, you can receive a Celestial body and dwell with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, family members and friends in eternal life, exaltation, in the highest heaven of the Celestial world. All this is possible because of the resurrection and atonement of Jesus Christ, our elder Brother.
“For as in Adam, all die; even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (I Cor. 15:21-22).
Christ is the author and finisher of our salvation. Come unto Him and live!
