Attitude of Gratitude

Isaiah 17:10
Thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength.”
Jesus is the God of our salvation, redemption, deliverance, and reclamation. He is the one true and saintly Savior and Redeemer of mankind. He is the Rock of our strength, our energy, our existence, our being, even our all. He is the light within each of us, all who enter the world through birth. He is the Light of Christ that lighteth all in all. He is the light of the sun, the moon, and the stars, and of the all-inclusive universe.
We give thanks and gratitude to Him for His countless and undeniable blessings, for His patience and longsuffering towards the children of men.  The commandment is, “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things” (Doctrine and Covenants 59:7). ‘Thou shalt’ makes it a strict commandment that we must heed or punishment be at our door. We need to cultivate an “Attitude of Gratitude,” as counseled by Thomas S. Monson, prophet, seer, and revelator for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus: Our Lord and Savior

Psalms 144:1-2
1 Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is everything good to us. Everything that leadeth to do good and believe in Christ, is inspired by the Spirit of Christ. Jesus is my:
  1. Strength
  2. Goodness
  3. Fortress
  4. High tower
  5. Deliverer
  6. Shield
Jesus is my strength, for He giveth me talent and skill. Jesus is my goodness, for he strives to mold me, like clay,  into a better quality person than yesterday. I am the clay, He is the potter, and He will mold and shape me if I humble myself and permit Him to do the shaping. Jesus is my fortress, for he encircles me about in the arms of His love and security. Jesus is my High Tower, for is the standard for which I must look up to and strive to become. He looketh down upon me and seeks to enter my heart, mind, and soul to sup with me. Jesus is my Deliverer, for it is He that delivers me from challenges, evil, bondage, and satan by empowering me to overcome such circumstances. Jesus is my Shield, for He will give me the mind and spirit and faith to circumvent  all the fiery darts of the adversary.
Jesus is my Savior, and I will put my trust in Him forevermore.

Jesus: The Focal Point of My Priorities

Psalms 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Jesus is my:
  1. Light
  2. Salvation
  3. Strength
Jesus is my light, for He is light, and in Him is no darkness. He is the light that lighteth up in me, even the Light of Christ. Jesus is my Salvation, for He it is who opened the door for Salvation to occur. Only He had the power to open the Salvation door and let us in, even into the presence of The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost, and others. Jesus is my Strength,  for my  life and energy and existence are fruits of His being, His atonement. The energy of my soul comes from Him. Within Him is no failing or flaw, no limitation, for He giveth strength to all, and added strength to those who seek Him endlessly.
Jesus gives us hope, hope for a happy and enjoyable life here in mortality and hope for eternal life in the hereafter. His light lightens up my light. His Salvation gives me Salvation. His Strength gives me strength. Jesus is the strong point inside me, the focal point of my priorities. Jesus magnifies us as we magnify and stretch ourselves in obeying His commandments. Obedience brings light, salvation, and strength, and all come from Christ, our Beloved Savior and Redeemer.
