JESUS CHRIST: NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME

Jesus Christ is Lord
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Jesus kneeling.jpg 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus, who is the Christ, is above all other names because of who He was and is. He is our Advocate with the Father, who pleads our cause daily. Everyone should bow down to Him in humble adoration and gratitude for His infinite atoning sacrifice. Because of Him all will be resurrected and live forever. Jesus suffered, bled, died, and was resurrected for us. He is our Savior and redeemer. Jesus alone is the true Messiah for there is no other.

JESUS CHRIST: THE HOLY ONE

Jesus is the only name whereby salvation comes
son of god.jpgIf thou wilt turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, and believe, and repent of all thy transgressions, and be baptized, even in water, in the name of mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth, which is Jesus Christ, the only name which shall be given under heaven, whereby salvation shall come unto the children of men, ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, asking all things in his name, and whatsoever ye shall ask, it shall be given you.
--Moses 6:52

Jesus Christ taught faith in Him and repentance for remission of sins. He is full of grace and truth and in the Only Begotten Son of God the Father in the flesh. Regardless of what the world teaches, there is no other name under heaven through which salvation can come to a person that through the name of Christ. No person can or will ever change this doctrine in spite of the thoughts, philosophies, and learning of man, for this absolute truth is constant, never-changing. When one repents and is baptized unto Christ into the true church, he/she then can receive the Holy Ghost, the testator of all truth.

JESUS: THE NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME

Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
--Philippians 2:8-11
Jesus was perfectly humble. His humility lead Him to perfect obedience, even unto death upon the cruel cross. He suffered pain, agony and affliction in Gethsemane and while hanging, nailed onto the death-born cross. He never complained nor murmured. God the Father exalted Jesus, and the name of Jesus is above every name; for there is no name greater. All should bow at the name of Jesus, all things in heaven and in earth. Everyone should believe in Jesus so deeply and love Him so much that everyone should admit and testify that Jesus Christ is Lord and glorify God the Father. The Spirit of the Holy Ghost bears witness of the truth of all things.
Love God, Jesus, and others above all other commandments, for this is The Greatest Commandment.

JESUS CHRIST: THE ONLY NAME

The Only Way: The Atoning Blood of Christ
O remember, remember, my sons, the words which king Benjamin spake unto his people; yea, remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world.
--Book of Mormon 5:9
Through the atoning blood of Christ is the only way than humankind can be saved. There is no other way nor means for salvation to occur. Christ’s blood atoned for all is the one and only way to eternal life and never-ending happiness. Christ is the Redeemer of the whole world, and all worlds created by the Almighty God. Put Him first in your life and He will put you in the top kingdom of glory in the hereafter, even the Celestial Kingdom. Jesus said, “I am the way.”

Jesus Christ: Our Redeemer-The One Who Saves

Isaiah 41:14
Fear not, thou worm (meek and humble) Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Jesus can, will, and does help us more abundantly if we are meek and humble; for He is our Lord, our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Jesus is the great I AM, and He will not forsake us. God delights in those who have meek and humble hearts, who acknowledge His hand in all things, and those who submissively and quietly and faithfully and confidently go about doing His work, not for selfish honors and praises of man, but for the glory of God.
Jesus, our Redeemer, saves us from misery and woe as we turn to Him in humble and sincere gratitude and acknowledgement. Jesus desires that we pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Christ. We have been commanded to do all that we do in the Son of God’s name, Christ’s name.
“Thou shalt do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forevermore” (Moses 5:8)
Doing in Christ’s name is glorifying Him. We should never take God’s name in vain or speak vulgarity vocally or silently, not in the least, for it devastates our spirit and mind, and it brings shame and degradation to the name of deity. Christ, our Redeemer, is here to save. Let Him do it for you.

Jesus Christ: Taking His Name upon Ourselves

2 Nephi 31:13
If ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism—yea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel.
We take upon ourselves the name of Christ by baptism, by being baptized by a legal administrator with proper authority and under the auspices of ecclesiastical direction, witness and approval. “And no man taketh this honor unto himself but he that is called of God as was Aaron” (See Hebrews 5:4). When we take upon ourselves the name of Christ, who is our Lord and Savior, we are promising to strive to live as He lived, as perfect as possible. We need to seek a higher standard of living every day and every hour, to raise the bar of performance.
Self-Evaluation
  1. Do you put God first in all that you do?
  2. What is your current standard of living?
  3. What are your current needs?
  4. How can you improve?
  5. What commandment are you having the most difficulty living?
  6. What is the quality of your prayers?
  7. What is the extent of your praise and gratitude to God?
  8. What are you doing to build the Lord’s kingdom on earth? Do you magnify your callings?
  9. How are you using your talents?
  10. Can you, with perfect honesty, acknowledge God’s hand in all things?
  11. Do you serve others selflessly? “When we serve others, we find Christ” (Harold Clyde)
The gospel of Jesus Christ is a balm, like the balm of Gilead. Look to God and live, even the abundant life.

Spiritually Begotten

Mosiah 5:7-8 Spiritually Begotten
7 And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters.
8 And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.
Spiritually begotten means to have been spiritually re-born, to have a change of heart and mind from carnal, sensual, devilish and disobedient to becoming saintly, humble, submissive, and  obedient to God’s commandments. Faith in Christ begets us, makes us new creatures through Him. Christ is the head, and only through Him are we made free. His is the only name whereby we can obtain salvation and eternal life in the forever hereafter.
Three Steps for Eternal Life Assurance:
  1. Covenant with God to obey all His commandments
  2. Take upon yourself the name of Christ
  3. Obey all God’s  commandments until the end of our lives.
The PROMISE:
“If ye keep my commandments and endure to the end, ye shall have eternal life which gift  is the greatest of all the gifts of God” (D&C 14:7).

Eternal Life is attainable AFTER we have been Spiritually Begotten through faith in Christ.
