JESUS CHRIST: ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER

Jesus Pleads Our Cause Even Today
3 Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him—
4 Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified;
5 Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life.
--Doctrine and Covenants 45:4
Jesus is our advocate with the Father. He pleads our cause even today with the Father for our benefit and welfare. An advocate is a person who supports or recommends a particular cause or thing. An advocate is:
  1. A champion
  2. An upholder
  3. A supporter
  4. A backer
  5. A spokesman
  6. A campaigner
  7. A fighter
  8. A crusader
Jesus is all these for us since He is the divine Son of God.

He it is who suffered, bled, and died for us to glorify the Father, this being the Father’s will. Jesus shed His innocent blood for us guilty sinners. He did no wrong, but we do, and He still loves us enough to lay down His life in our behalf so that we might live.

Jesus Christ: Our Redeemer-The One Who Saves

Isaiah 41:14
Fear not, thou worm (meek and humble) Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Jesus can, will, and does help us more abundantly if we are meek and humble; for He is our Lord, our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Jesus is the great I AM, and He will not forsake us. God delights in those who have meek and humble hearts, who acknowledge His hand in all things, and those who submissively and quietly and faithfully and confidently go about doing His work, not for selfish honors and praises of man, but for the glory of God.
Jesus, our Redeemer, saves us from misery and woe as we turn to Him in humble and sincere gratitude and acknowledgement. Jesus desires that we pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Christ. We have been commanded to do all that we do in the Son of God’s name, Christ’s name.
“Thou shalt do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forevermore” (Moses 5:8)
Doing in Christ’s name is glorifying Him. We should never take God’s name in vain or speak vulgarity vocally or silently, not in the least, for it devastates our spirit and mind, and it brings shame and degradation to the name of deity. Christ, our Redeemer, is here to save. Let Him do it for you.

Jesus Christ: Higher Than I

Psalms 61:2
1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Jesus Christ is our Higher Rock. No one, save the Father (Elohim) only, is higher than our Savior, and no one else will ever ascend above them. When our souls are rejoicing in Christ due to our successes and self-fulfillment, we will cry unto Him for gratitude and our indebtedness to Him. When our hearts are filled with sorrow and hurt, we will weep and pour out our souls to Him for mercy and grace. We can look upward to Him at any time of need, and He will be there for us, to comfort us and strengthen us. As we pray to the Father, both the Father and Christ hear our cries, and will be answered according to our faith and as they see fit. Our prayers will not go unattended. Jesus said, “Ask, and ye shall receive.”

Salvation Through the Name of Jesus Christ

Book of Mormon--Helaman 5:9 (About 30 BC)
Remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world.
Jesus Christ’s name is the only name through which man can be saved. His is the only name whereby redemption is obtained. Only through Jesus’ name is the world redeemed. No other person or thing can take the place of our Savior’s atoning sacrifice, His infinite atonement (payment) for our sins. His name is the only name under heaven whereby man could become clean and pure and sanctified. When we are pure and clean of our sins, it is because of our sincere repentance and the grace of God. Grace is divine assistance. We are saved through the grace of God after all we can do.
Think-Ponder-Pray: When you hear or think of the name Jesus Christ:
  1. What comes to mind?
  2. What do you think of?
  3. What feelings enter your heart?
  4. What directions do  your thoughts go?
  5. Why do you feel a spirit of reverence?
  6. Why do tears fill your eyes?
  7. Why do you feel a deeper spirit of humility?
  8. Why is your tongue stayed and speechless for a few minutes?
  9. What now is most important in life?
  10. What is your standing with God?
  11. Why am I not more grateful to Him than I should be?
  12. How can I increase my love and gratitude for Him?
  13. Is my  life in harmony with the teachings of the Lord?
  14. How can I do and be better?
  15. How can I improve my life?
  16. How can I live a more Christ-like life?
  17. How can I please Him more?
Ponder answers to these questions, and you will have a spiritual experience because of our loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ who made Jesus’ atonement possible. We are forever indebted to them. Trust them, and trust His name.

A Book with a Promise

How to Gain a Testimony that
The Book of Mormon is True

The Bible and Book of Mormon

"I testify that the Bible is the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. I also know for a perfect surety that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. You can gain a testimony, a sure knowledge of its truthfulness, if you will study, ponder, and pray about it" (Steve Haymore)
